Dirty Birds’ Home Opener: Thursday, April 25 vs Staten Island Charleston, WV (October 19, 2023) – The Charleston Dirty Birds alongside the Atlantic League officially release the full 2024 Season Schedule. The Dirty Birds will play 126 games: 63 games in Charleston and 63 on the road. The Dirty Birds start the 2024 campaign at GoMart Ballpark against Staten Island for Opening Day on Thursday, April 25. Outfielder, Dwight Smith Jr., is named to the 2023 Post-Season ALPB All-Star Team Charleston, WV (October 4, 2023) – The Charleston Dirty Birds' starting outfielder, Dwight Smith Jr., has been named to the 2023 Atlantic League Post-Season All-Star Team voted on by the league’s managers and coaches. In his first season in Charleston, Smith Jr. played 117 games and led the Dirty Birds with a .331 batting average, 142 hits, and 64 RBIs. The Ken Shepard Award is given annually for promotional excellence in the Atlantic League Charleston, WV (October 2, 2023) – The Charleston Dirty Birds have been named the 2023 Ken Shepard Award winner for Promotional Excellence for the second year in a row. The award recognizes the Dirty Birds for their promotional calendar and in-game entertainment.
