Charleston Pitchers Combine for 16 Strikeouts Charleston, WV – June 27, 2024) – The Dirty Birds defeated the Lexington Legends 4-3 in the series finale. Charleston improves to 11-1 against the Legends this season.  Kevin Smith earned his first win of the season after giving up two earned runs in his six innings pitched. Game Called in the Eighth Inning Due to Rain  (Charleston, WV – June 26, 2024) – There were two rain delays at GoMart Ballpark on Wednesday night. One delay came in the fourth inning and only lasted seven minutes. The final delay was before the bottom of the eigthth inning with the Dirty Birds leading by 5 runs. 7 Runs in First Two Innings Propel Legends over Charleston  (Charleston, WV – June 25, 2024) – For the first time in the 2024 season, the Dirty Birds lost to the Lexington Legends. Prior to Tuesday’s contest the Birds were 9-0 against the Legends. Lexington defeated Charleson 8-4 after scoring seven runs in the first two innings. Four-Run Fourth Inning Propels Charleston Over Gastonia  (Charleston, WV – June 23, 2024) – The Dirty Birds won the series finale against Gastonia 5-4. Charleston had five hits in the fourth inning to score four runs for the lead. Three of those hits were for extra bases. Gabriel Cancel and Keon Barnum doubled while Jared Carr tripled. In the fifth inning, Keon Barnum hit his 10th home run of the year for a needed insurance run.  Adrian Almeida earned his second win of the season. DIRTY BIRDS FALLS TO GASTONIA 13-1
Clint Frazier Hits His Second Home Run of the Series  (Charleston, WV – June 22, 2024) – The Dirty Birds dropped game two of the three-game series to Gastonia 13-1. The only bright spot in the box score for Charleston is Clint Frazier’s home run in the eighth. It was the only hit of the game for the Dirty Birds.  Gastonia stringed together 20 hits and five walks to score the 13 runs. They had five home runs in the game.  The Dirty Birds host Gastonia for two of the three-game series tomorrow at 4:05pm.
